How you can donate your horse to the NEHRF
National Equine Hoof and Research Foundation, Inc
We welcome healthy horses and those with hoof related problems. Our farrier staff will provide the care and services needed for improvement. At some point a new home will be provided, whether it is another farrier or horse owner, but always taking special care to ensure continued farrier services. The materials, products, feed, hay, etc are provided by cash donations and farrier/company donations.
Please be advised that we are NOT a Rescue Facility owned by the state.
We will take our own video and photos of the animals with the owner or person responsible with the delivery to discuss in detail the problems and the condition upon arrival. We will continue as progress is made for final results.
Your horse will be a tax deductible "gift" or donation. The NEHRF has a non-profit 501(c)3 status. We will provide you with a tax-exempt letter describing the gift and the value of the gift at the time of the donation. The value amount will be your decision.
We ask that you provide the following:
- Delivery to our location in Georgia, the Farriers' National Research Center
- A current COGGINS report
- Health papers or current vet records of vaccinations, etc. no more than a year old
- The original Registration Papers if owned and Transfer papers, bill of sale, etc.
(if you arrive without these items, we cannot accept it)
