Specialty Gaited Class-Shoeing the Flat Shod Horse and Introduction to Pads

Instructor is  Master Gaited Farrier Stan Trimble, from Pulaski, TN. Stan follows the show circuit in the Shelbyville, TN area as well as owns and trains Tennessee Walking Horses with his family.


Five Day Class

Wednesday - Sunday 8 am-5 pm. Two meals per day are included. Bring only your hand tools, which would include driving hammers, forge hammer, chaps, hoof gauges, calipers if you have them.

Tuition is $1,000.00

A $250.00 deposit  is due upon registration, remainder to be paid upon arrival.

Horse Owners-Bring your horse

to be shod for the price of materials only. Each horse undergoes an  evaluation of riding  prior to being shod, the proper shoe type and riding after being shod to meet your horse's individual needs.

  Healthy Hooves Hoof Plate Application Schools

Learn the correct way to apply the Nolan Hoof Plate to achieve "pain relieving" results.


Focus on foundered horses- includes whole horse health Thermography before & after and hands-on shoeing& plate application. Instructor Link Casey


Case studies are recorded and documented during each class.


Horses are provided by the FNRC. Each owner should understand that their horse is part of the on going case study requiring it to return to the FNRC every eight weeks. This allows us to document the success as well as provide DVDs for the attending farriers. This allows the owner, the farrier and the general public a unique opportunity.


Class consist of 8 hours of hands-on applying the plate and 4 hours of Thermal Imaging. Upon successful completion of the school, farriers will be part of the Healthy Hooves Hoof Plate School Farrier Referral Program.

Two meals per day are included.


One Day- $200

Two Days - $300

outside horses & owners welcome.

Deposit of $100 required with pre-registration remainder to be paid upon arrival.



Farriers will be asked to bring some of their own tools and will be given a supply checklist.


Horse owner or farrier interested in this product is highly recommended to purchase the Nolan Hoof Plate Informational DVD prior to the class.

Vettec Equithane Products




Hands-on demonstrations with horses by Vettec representative Lynne Myers. We receive horses that are foundered, abscessed, with cracks and splits and in need of hoof repair. The Vettec Company supplies the products which allows students to ask questions and sample all of the Vettec products.



Farriers $25.00 each 9-5 pm.


Audit only- no charge.
